TÁRKI hosted a debate on Branko Milanovic's "Visions of Inequality. From the French Revolution to the End of the Cold War" (Harvard University Press, 2023) as part of the Tárki WIP (Work in Progress) workshop series.
The book was presented by the author (Professor at the City University of New York and Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science, author of several influential books on inequality worldwide) and discussed by three distinguished speakers (Andrea Brandolini, Deputy Director General for Economics and Statistical Research at the Bank of Italy, Éva Fodor, Professor and Vice-Rector of CEU and Brian Nolan, Professor at the University of Oxford).
The event was in hybrid form, in total more than 85 guests attended the session in TÁRKI's office (Budapest Nádor utca 7), and online in zoom and via Facebook stream.
Youtube video will be available shortly about the debate.
TÁRKI staff also had the priviledge to have a discussion with Professor Milanovic on his work, on the subject of the book and on various other issues of public policy. Here is a report with pictures.
