Bori Simonovits - researcher
Bori Simonovits (MA in Sociology, AMA in Social Policy Analysis) is researcher at TÁRKI since 2001,
with research experience on the fields of discrimination, xenophobia, international migration
and prejudice. Besides, she has teaching experiences at the university of ELTE
(Eötvös Lóránd Tudományegyetem, Budapest) in the field of discrimination, migration
and methodolgy. Currently she is a PhD applicant at the university of ELTE, working on
her dissertation in the field of empirical research of discrimination. She is a member
of the Hungarian National Focal Point of the EUMC (European Union Monitoring Centre on
Racism and Xenophobia) at the Research Institute of Ethnic and National Minorities
at the Hungarian Academic of Sciences.Main references:
- Project leader of the empirical research project entitled "Comparative Study of Stop and Search Practices in Bulgaria, Hungary and Spain", carried out by TÁRKI Ltd. between 2005 and 2006. The empirical comparative research, conducted on behalf of the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI), aims at examining stop and search procedures by the police.
- Researcher in the project titled as "Measuring Labour Market Discrimination: Methodological and Pilot Study in the Hungarian Labour Market, being conducted during the year of 2006.
- Since 2004: PhD applicant at the university of ELTE, Faculty of Social Sciences (Topic of dissertation: How to measure discrimination? Methodological and Pilot Study)
